Don't take this the wrong way, but you need to wise up and stop living this writing fantasy.
Look at Lileks. He's one of the best writers in the country and HE GOT FIRED! Okay? It's no living, so let the dream die and get on with being an adult.
Do your writing on the side like a hobby and get back in the salt mine like a man.
